WHERE CHILDREN SLEEP

“One of the great challenges for all of us, is to put yourself into unusual situations, put yourself into unusual cultures where you don’t belong, put yourself amongst people who you don’t normally hang-out with and get out of your comfort zone culturally… I think that is very, very important … getting back on the streets, and getting an understanding of how young people think today”.

John Jay

CALM SUBCONSCIOUS SEA

“I am looking forward enormously to getting back to the sea again, where the overstimulated psyche can recover in the presence of that infinite peace and spaciousness.”

Micky Mouse has grown up a cow.

“Un fou ! cela fait horreur. Qu’êtes-vous, vous lecteur ? Dans quelle catégorie te ranges-tu, dans celle des sots ou celle des fous ? — Si l’on te donnait à choisir, ta vanité préférerait encore la dernière condition. ”

Gustave Flaubert – L’estate Memoires d’un Fou

PEOPLE ARE ANIMALS

Animals in clothes I see
Driving cars or sipping tea
Animals in clothes I see
But they don’t know what they are
These animals that drive a car?
Dress in clothes?
Sip the tea?
Just like you
Just like me
Very clever animals they’d be

Animals in Clothes – Egal Bohen (1986)

BLACK AND WHITE AND BLACK

“Women think of all colors except the absence of color.
I have said that black has it all. White too.
Their beauty is absolute. It is the perfect harmony.”

Coco Chanel

BIRDS, FLY AWAY, FREEDOM

“There’s a bluebird in my heart that wants to get out
but I’m too tough for him,
I say, stay in there, I’m not going to let anybody see you.”

ARCHITECTURE OF DENSITY

“I suppose the main tradition in photography is the one that implies that anything can be interesting if you take a photograph of it. It consists in discovering beauty, a beauty that can exist anywhere but is assumed to reside particularly in the random and the banal. Photography conflates the notions of the “beautiful” and the “interesting.”It’s a way of aestheticizing the whole world”.
Susan Sontag
